GenXConnect is built on trust, honesty, and open dialogue. Meaningful mentorship requires the ability to speak candidly about challenges, decisions, and experiences—often involving sensitive business, financial, or personal information.

This Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality Statement exists to protect all participants and to ensure GenXConnect remains a safe environment for authentic, experience-based conversations.

Scope of Confidential Information

 

For the purposes of GenXConnect, Confidential Information includes, but is not limited to:

• Business ideas, concepts, or strategies

• Financial information, revenue, or pricing models

• Intellectual property or proprietary processes

• Client, customer, or partner information

• Internal challenges, failures, or vulnerabilities

• Personal or professional information shared during mentorship interactions

Confidential Information may be shared verbally, in writing, or through digital communication on or off the GenXConnect platform.

Obligations of Participants

 

All mentors, entrepreneurs, and community members agree to:

• Maintain strict confidentiality of any information shared during mentorship interactions

• Use shared information solely for the purpose of mentorship and professional development

• Refrain from disclosing, sharing, or exploiting any confidential information without explicit written consent

• Exercise reasonable care to protect confidential information from unauthorized access

Confidentiality applies during participation in GenXConnect and continues after mentorship relationships or platform membership ends.

Mutual Responsibility

Confidentiality within GenXConnect is mutual and reciprocal.

Both mentors and mentees are expected to:

• Respect each other’s privacy and business interests

• Share only information they are comfortable disclosing

• Clarify when information is especially sensitive or restricted

GenXConnect encourages transparency, but never requires disclosure of proprietary or protected information.

Exclusions from Confidential Information

 

Confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that:

• Is publicly available through no fault of the receiving party

• Was known prior to disclosure through legitimate means

• Is independently developed without use of confidential information

• Must be disclosed by law, regulation, or court order

Intellectual Property & Ideas

 

GenXConnect does not claim ownership of any ideas, strategies, or intellectual property shared by participants.

However:

• Sharing an idea does not grant others the right to use, reproduce, or commercialize it

• Participants are responsible for protecting their own intellectual property, including pursuing formal legal protections if necessary

No Solicitation or Exploitation

 

Participants agree not to:

• Use confidential information for personal financial gain

• Solicit clients, employees, or partners based on information shared during mentorship without consent

• Compete unfairly using privileged access or insights gained through GenXConnect

Reporting & Enforcement

 

If a participant believes confidentiality has been breached, they should report the concern to GenXConnect promptly.

GenXConnect reserves the right to:

• Investigate reported violations

• Suspend or terminate access to the platform

• Take appropriate action to protect the community

By participating in GenXConnect, all members acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality Statement.
